Lab Policies

  1. Labs were designed for use on Matlab version 6 on Microsoft Windows-based platform. While you may attempt to use an older version of Matlab or a different platform, you do so at your own risk.
  2. Each group of 2 people works together and turns in one lab report at the beginning of the next lab session. No late report will not be accepted!!
  3. Honor code applies to lab reports and matlab codes.
  4. All lab reports must be typed. Sample lab reports are availble on the website (Lab1 sample_laboratory.pdf). The names of all group members and lab section number must appear at the top of the report.
  5. All group members should keep your soft-copys of lab reports and matlab files in your private directory NOT floopy disks. No excues is accepted for lost files.
  6. If you think your lab report or homework grades are wrong, let me know within 2 days after they are distributed.
  7. Some functions provided in Labs require the signal processing toolbox. I recommand that you go try these in a cane lab rather than at home.

Announcements for Lab9

  1. In decibel: use 20*log10(abs(H))

Announcements for Lab8

  1. If you want Lab5 to be regraded, please bring yours back to me.
  2. Euclidean distance b/w x and y vectors: sqrt(sum( (x-y).^2 ))
  3. Prob 2b): For plotting a mean vector (x,y) in a scatter plot, plot(x, y, '*', 'MarkerSize', 18);
  4. Prob 3:[value, index] = min(v), where v is a vector. Ex) v = [4 6 5 2 8], [value, min] = 2, 4
You may want to look at previous announcements.
