Games Arcade Diverts, Preserves

Located in the Beyster Building, the custom-built MichiGames Arcade will serve to archive and showcase videogames built by Michigan students. The Arcade is available for anyone to try out.

Congrats to CAREER Recipients

Two CSE faculty – Reetuparna Das and Emily Mower Provost – have received NSF CAREER Awards for their work in (respectively) repurposing storage structures for computation and speech-based mood monitoring.

Two CSE faculty – Z. Morley Mao and David Paoletti – have been selected for awards from the College of Engineering in 2017: Mao for research excellence, and Paoletti for teaching excellence.

Elections the Topic at Theater Event

A "Science on Screen" event at Ann Arbor's Michigan Theater paired the documentary I Voted? with a talk by Prof. J. Alex Halderman on the security risks in America's election system and his analysis of the 2016 recount results.

CSE Student wins Microsoft Fellowship

CSE graduate student Andrew Quinn has received a Microsoft Research PhD Fellowship to support his work in creating cluster-scale systems that allow developers to quickly understand and debug programs.

48-Hour Game Jam Delivers

Student group Wolverine Soft held its third 48-hour game development jam of the academic year, entitled "Space Jam 3," on the weekend of January 13-15. A number of great games were created; three were declared winners!
